What’s In My Bag: Disney Edition

Hello MouseTeens! My name is Mikal and I am 17 years old, as well as the newest writer for MouseTeens!

I am also a Disneyland Annual Pass Holder and I go about once a month. It goes without saying that, yes, I do take a few things with me on these trips. Just the essentials. Or what I think are necessary in any Disney trip.

Allow me to introduce Part 1 of my Tips & Tricks Series- What’s In My Bag: Disney Edition.

#1: Ears, Ears, Ears!

My classic Minnie ears, of course. Its my uniform on any Disney day.

This is one of the biggest essentials to me on my trips. I feel absolutely naked without them when I go to Disneyland.

It’s a custom for me. You’d be surprised to see how many people don’t wear any ears when they go. I don’t understand how they live like that!

Not to mention, they’re great to distract people from a bad hair day, and for Insta-worthy pics! (Follow me on Instagram, @disneylandfantasies)

#2: Camera

Coming from a self-proclaimed photographer, my camera is a MUST! Disneyland and DCA (Disney’s California Adventure) are my favorite places to take pictures.

Its kind of part of my job as I do have a whole account dedicated to my Disney pictures (@disneylandfantasies. Seriously. Give me a follow).

Now, let’s be honest. You don’t want to spend a whole day at the parks without any pics for the gram.

Just take any camera. Whether it’s a professional camera, an IPhone camera, a Polaroid, etc. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.

#3: Phone Juice from the gods

A charger, in case you didn’t catch on. I’ll tell you a little secret. You don’t have to rent a locker with charging stations in it.

*Gasp* “Whaaaaat?!” Thats right folks, you heard it here first. Or maybe not.

Either way, you’re hearing it here. Or reading it…. Anyways, if you go to Tomorrowland, make your way towards Space Mountain (or Hyperspace. Depending on what season you go. Still the same ride).

To your left hand side, there is a restaurant next to the ride called Pizza Port (the pasta there is better than the pizza. If you want really good pizza, go to Daisy’s Diner in ToonTown. Just sayin’).

Walk through the restaurant and out to the back patio. On the wall on your left, you’ll find an outlet. If you need it, take a few minutes out of your day to sit there and juice up your phone (charge it, in case you still don’t get it).

Also, if you have a portable charger, charge it the night before so that way you don’t have to stop to charge anything.

And if you don’t have one, purchase one. Seriously. Five bucks at Target. You do not want your phone dying on you when you’re trying to Snapchat everything.

*In Maui’s voice* You’re Welcome.

#4: Sun Repellent

SUNSCREEN! Look, I like the color pink as much as the next girl. Just not on my face. You definitely need this on a sunny Disney day.

This one is pretty much self-explanatory, so lets move on.

#5: Chapstick

Also self-explanatory. Ya don’t need chapped lips. NEXT.

#6: A Change of Clothing

If you’re a Splash Mountain addict like me, a change of clothing is definitely something you should pack up in a bag.

And I’m not just talking about one extra shirt. I mean one shirt, a pair of pants or shorts, socks (because EW WET SOCKS NO THANKS), and “undergarments”.

I also find it handy to take a pair of sweat pants. Believe me, there is no better feeling in the world than throwing on some sweatpants in the evening after a looooong day.

Try it next time, you’ll thank me later!

P.S. If you have a mother like mine, she will NOT let you leave the house without a sweater. So, for your own sake, take a sweater.

#7: Backpack Backpack

That was a Dora reference. 20 awesome points for anyone who got it. But, obviously you’ll need something to carry all of these things in. With just these items, I find it super easy to carry around a backpack all day. Its not heavy at all. No need to rent a locker anymore!

I hope you found this article somewhat helpful in any way! These are the only things I take on my Disney trips (and my wallet which I did not include above).

I will be back with Part 2 of my Tips and Tricks Series where I will be giving out Top Secret Info. on how to ride almost everything in one day! (Not really top secret btw)

Also, @disneylandfantasies is my Instagram. Have I said that already? 😉
