There is a lot going on at Walt Disney World in 2017 and I could not be more excited to be a Disney nerd!
Pandora- The World of Avatar will be opening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27th, 2017 and I can hardly wait!
So without any more delay let’s dive into the world of Pandora!
Disney and especially Disney’s Animal Kingdom really needs to hit a home run with Pandora to give attendance a boost .
With an almost year delay before the debut of Rivers of Light and the not so highly rated Jungle Book: Alive with
Magic, Animal Kingdom cannot afford any more setbacks. With all that said, I really believe that Pandora is what we’ve all been waiting for.
So far we know two attractions that will be featured in Pandora. On “Flight of Passage” you will climb onto a Banshee and experience Pandora from a different point of view. I’m hoping the effects on this ride receive the same level of acclaim as those in the movie when it was released.
Finally “Na’vi River Journey” will take you through the breathtaking world and landscape of Pandora. I’m really looking forward to seeing the Na’vi Shaman audio animatronic in this attraction as well.
In addition to these 2 amazing rides, we can expect highly themed shopping and dining experiences as well.
With new TV spots coming out and sneak peaks starting in just a few weeks, I’m even more excited to see it during my trip in July.
Also since Avatar already has 2 planned sequels, Pandora: The World of Avatar can only keep
growing and reaching new heights.
Not only is Pandora going to help Disney with ticket sales and attendance, this new land should also reduce some crowds in the other parks with everyone wanting to see Pandora.
This does not mean Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is going to have a 10 minute wait, but Epcot or Hollywood Studios could experience some shorter waits with everyone’s attention on Animal Kingdom.
If you do plan on being there for the opening or in the first couple of months after the debut, I would recommend being there as early as you can and be prepared for large crowds. This is not something often said about
Animal Kingdom, but this new land has had so many people excited for it’s opening I am sure it is going to be quite busy.
I also want to mention that everyone who is planning their Disney vacation for this summer should be expecting
Disney’s Animal Kingdom to become a full day park and not just a half day.
I hope you all enjoyed my thoughts on Pandora: World of Avatar, coming to the Animal Kingdom this May.
I would love to hear what you’re excited about!
Be sure to share as well!
